Dr. Valerie
Durkalski is on faculty in the Department of Biostatistics,
Bioinformatics and Epidemiology at the Medical University
of South Carolina (MUSC) and holds membership in the
International Biometric Society, The Society for Clinical
Trials and the American Statistical Association, and
serves on the ITV review committee for NIMH. She is
also the Associate Director of MUSC's Data Coordination
Unit, a clinical data management and statistical center
located in Charleston, SC.
Dr. Durkalski received a B.S. in Biology from Tulane
University, an M.P.H. in Health Policy and Management
from Emory University, and a Ph.D. in Biostatistics
from the Department of Biostatistics, Bioinformatics
and Epidemiology at the Medical University of South
Carolina. She has over seven years experience in the
design and analysis of clinical trials with a focus
in digestive diseases and neurosciences. Her research
has focused on the analysis of clustered binary data
and the design and analysis of non-inferiority clinical
trials. She lectures frequently on topics related
